Well I know Jcink tried this before to incorporate TinyMCE and some other WYSIWYGs but they didn't work so I have created one that will(most likely unless completely unforseen things happen) be the new WYSIWYG for us to use.

It has been made to be compatible with custom bbcodes and seems to work with all the ones I have tried so far.

It has the ability to switch back and forth between WYSIWYG and raw editing if you are one of them people that don't like the WYSIWYG.

Now even though it is basically done, minor bugs will have to be worked out, we need people to test this. It will be enabled on these boards for those who want to try it out. THIS IS AN OPT-IN TEST, you will not automatically have it enabled.

If you are testing this we need your feedback not just oh its good we want to hear what you actually think, don't worry I won't cry if you don't like it.
If you find any bugs and are web dev. savvy please give us the error string and line number if possible.

If you would like to be in this test please post below.

Common support questions:

Many people are asking very, very common questions and hopefully this topic will answer some of your questions before you post about them.
First and formost we always suggest if you cannot find what your looking for in here search or check the wiki many times it will tell you how to do something there.

Mod-enabler/Mods won't activate:
Many people come in saying I enabled the mod in my mod enabler but it isn't showing up why not? This is because the mod enabler is just to hide the sections in the ACP after you enable the modification, refresh your Admin CP and on the left panel there should be a section for the mod you have enabled, those are all your settings.

If however they are still not showing up in the Admin CP please make sure you have the mod enabler turned on in the first place.

After you do that and you set all the settings for the mod and a link doesn't appear in your submenu bar where there are links to things like Members, Calendar, etc. that is most likely because you have the global navigation bar turned on. Check this by going to your ACP > General Configuration

If it is turned on then you will have to go to your ACP > Navigation Bar Set-Up and add the links that you want from there.

Board wrappers explained (Copy from Resource Empire forums):
InvisionFree shows your board wrappers as separate sections, which makes people moving to your own IPB or to another service such as JFB much harder to get used to. Not separating the wrappers into sections also works out for you too though, by doing so you have much more control over what you can do with your wrappers.

This is how it works in the board wrapper system we have here:

RED = Java Script (not used in many skins)
Blue = Header and Body
Green = Footers

<title><% TITLE %></title>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<% CSS %>

Java script codes can go here!

<% BOARD %>
<% STATS %>

Footer codes can start from here down! Though it is recommended to start beneath the <% COPYRIGHT %> tag to help keep your wrappers more organized, not all codes work below it.

Custom mini-profile fields (data left of post):
As you can see in this screenshot you can customize the post details on JFB

Many people come here asking how to do this. This is explained in this wiki page: and as long as you completely read through the wiki you should be able to know how to do it yourself.

Board is being stretched out:
First of all check to see if your banner is wider then what you want the board to actually be, if the banner is wider then the board it will stretch out ther board.

If you know for a fact that your banner is not stretching your board check your CSS for these lines and check whats in red:

#ipbwrapper { margin-top: 0px; padding-left: 10px; padding-right: 10px; background-color: #575757; text-align:left; width: 800px; padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px;}

.tableborder { border: none;background-color:transparent; padding:0px; margin:0px; width: 750px;}

Those are some common issues with board width, however there may be certain cases that don't follow suit with that and may need extra help.

Add a background image to the board:
Find this line in your CSS:

BODY {...}

Check to see if there is this in that line:

background-image: url(...);

If there is then you can put the url to the image where the ... is, if there is no part like that then add it after a ; and put the url where the ... is.

Announcement link is broken:
If you have pinned a topic as an announcement and then deleted the topic while it was still set as an announcement you will get an error when you click on the announcement.
First of all the best advice for this is to make sure the topic your deleting isn't an announcement. If however you have unfortunately fallen into this problem there is an easy fix:
  • Create a new topic, this will be getting deleted so don't put information in there you need
  • Merge it with the announcement topic id, this can be gotten by copying the link that the broken announcement leads to
  • Unpin the topic as an announcement
  • Delete the new topic

Well with the red and white skin I can't see any of the images as long as its connecting through port 81 yet if i take the 81 out then i can see the images..... So I don't know if you need it in or not but if it will effect others then just keep it the way it is sometimes I like text interfaces i just thought I would let you know. This is only happening at school running FF 2 and not at home so it is probably just this computer anyway.

I know I posted this in another topic but I decided it may not get noticed there.
Instead of global wrappers, since skins need things in wrappers dif. then other skins may I give the suggestion of global blocks

In which you go to a section in the admin cp put whatever you want in the global block hit submit and you then go to your board wrappers and put in <% GLOBAL %> or something indicating you want to load whatever you have in the global block

This way after you have put <% GLOBAL %> in you can just update the section in the admin cp while still maintaining the ability for skins to keep their styling that was needed in the board wrappers
